Walnut (Juglans regia) is native to Iran and is being planted in most provinces of the country. This study was performed to identify and record the walnut long-lived trees in the Ardabil province. By collecting information, using local resources, and visiting different parts of the province, 15 walnut long-lived trees were investigated. According to the results, the average diameter at breast height was 131.6 cm, the total height was 11.55 m, and the crown cover was 133.49 m2. The long-lived trees were generally distributed in an altitude range between 1038-1722 m.a.s.l. All of these trees have been planted in the province's old gardens to exploit its product. Regarding growth characteristics and age of long-live trees, while fully protecting these trees, it is possible to produce and propagate their seedlings by creating genetic reserves.
