Abstract

According to "Flora Orientalis" by E. Boissier (1888-1867), as the first flora compiled for Southwest Asia and Iran, the new enduring and accessible flora "Flora Iranica" by K.H. Rechinger (1963-1963), one of the most well-known botanists in recent years and recent research by Iranian botanists, about 150 genera of flowering and non- flowering plants and nearly 8000 species of Spontaneous plants, as well as about 36 genera of plants grown in Iran. Based on a detailed review of the complete checklist of plant genera and species of Iran genera (spontaneous and exotic ones) which are listed in Dictionary of Iranian plant names second edition in Iran, about 219 plant genera including flowering, Gymnospermes, Spontaneous and exotics among  9070 species of plants can be found in Iran, of which 2350 species are listed in medicinal plants, aromatic and poisonous annuals, perennials, rarely trees and shrubs and a number of Medicinal and food plants that can be consumed in the form of food, spices and condiments, among them there are approximately 400-850 species of medicinal plants that are used at first glance for primary health care in Iran. Of course, there is not much information about poisonous plants, unfortunately there is no reliable list of poisonous plants in Iran, so as to show their danger to humans and animals. The author, as a botanist familiar with plants and using European sources and neighboring countries, compiles a list of 75 genera and about 200 species of important poisonous plants in Iran along with the degree of toxicity, toxicology, and introduction of their toxic organs.
