Abstract

A small part of the flora of Iran belongs to coniferous plants. There are only nine native species of the conifers in these areas. In the flora of Iran, the sites and distribution range of the species are not completely detected yet. Despite many studies done on Taxus baccata and Platycladus orientalis, many of their natural habitats and their distribution range are still unknown. Hence two sites of Lafoor (Taxus) and Zarandin (Platycladus) were introduced and surveyed, and the conservational and geographical position of the species has been analyzed at the local, national, and global level. In addition to introducing habitat features of the sites, a new geographical distribution map has been conducted and the conservation status of the plants has been analyzed by the IUCN categories.
