Abstract

The conservation status of the Salvia aristata was defined  ased on IUCN Red ListCategories. Referring to the area of occupancy, highly fragmented populations, low regeneration due to limited seed setting and locality quality, S. aristata is recognized as “Endangered”. Defining protected localities by Forests, Range  and Watershed Management Organization, ex-situ conservation in National Botanical Garden of Iran & Zagros Botanical Garden and in plant natural resources gene bank are suggested to be considered for conservation of this species.
